Homemade Nut Nog
When you love the Nog, but can't have the eggs (or dairy) and don't want the processed sugar or fillers. Egg free, dairy free, sugar free, wheat free, gluten free, soy free and can be made nut free if you substitute the almond milk with a seed milk and omit the cashews.
Makes 1 large, sweet and creamy mug-full:
2 cups homemade almond or seed milk
1/4 cup soaked raw cashews, optional for added creaminess
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves, optional
1/4 tsp ground cardamom, optional
1/4 tsp lucuma powder, optional (adds light caramel flavour, creamy texture and nutrients)
1 date or 1 tbsp preferred sweetener (raw maple syrup, honey, yacon syrup)
Combine all ingredients in a high speed blender until smooth.
Taste and customize for sweetness and spice.
Serve heated or chilled.
To make it fancy; sprinkle with cinnamon or vanilla powder, top with one whole anise star and add a cinnamon stir stick!
