Happy Hunting Journal

The Journal:
The Happy Hunting Journal includes 29 original activities to inspire kids of all ages to regularly practice the 9 happy habits for life.

The Journal was created for kids 5 years of age or older, but with a little help younger kids can play too. The activities can be done in any order and in any way, using a variety of art supplies or just a pencil and some imagination. They can be done with others or in a quiet space all on one's own. The icon on each page shows which habit is being focused on.

The Problem:
We can so easily lose touch with our selves, our inner happiness and true contentment when our lives become too fast and complicated. When kids become detached from their inner compass they make choices for themselves based on other sources, often not aligned with growing healthy hearts, minds and bodies.

Over time, their detachment from themselves and the accumulation of unhealthy choices can lead to emotional and physical health issues that are more difficult to overcome. Kids especially need solid and simple practices that can be effortlessly incorporated into their daily lives to strengthen their sense of selves, bring meaning and elicit joy!

How the Journal addresses the Problem:
The Happy Hunting Journal makes practicing happy habits easy and interactive, while building skills and forming healthy habits for life! Here’s how:

Easy:
Each page engages kids with one habit in a playful and creative way, because even just a few minutes of HAPPY time each day will make a big difference.

Interactive:
Whether the interaction is taking place between the child and the activity (within) or with others (socially), kids are taking part in their own learning. This provides a more robust learning experience: increased motivation, involvement and use of imagination.

Practices skills and forms habits for life:
Based on research in developmental science, positive psychology and ancient principles, the Happy Hunting Journal encourages kids to be kind, practice gratitude, make wishes, eat real food, care for all feelings, go outside, have fun, slow down and try new things.

Our Free Journal Activity Sheets creatively increase kids' engagement with the Journal.
